Read the Bible in a Year

Beginning the week of September 4, Lebanon First United Methodist Church will embark on a fulfilling journey – as a family of God, we will read through the Bible in a year.  This is a great way for us to explore Scripture together and be part of an initiative being promoted by the Illinois Great Rives Conference. If you have a question about which translation is best for you or if you need a Bible in any translation, contact Rev. Wehrly.

Click here for the reading schedule. Each day (Monday through Saturday) has the suggested Scripture texts. But we won’t just start at the beginning - Genesis 1:1 – and read until our eyes grow weary; this reading program will offer a variety of types of Scripture by days of the week. Mondays will include readings from the law; Tuesday, history; Wednesday, the Psalms; Thursday, the prophets; Friday, the Gospels; and Saturday, the Epistles. on Scripture!)

We offer Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 am:

Children Kindergarten through 6^th grade – Art Room, Upstairs, Fellowship Hall

Youth, 7^th – 12^th grade – Youth Room, Downstairs, Fellowship Hall

Adult class, Parlor, just off Sanctuary – led by Kay Korte

Adult class, downstairs room, Fellowship Hall – rotating leadership

Adult class, (former computer room, upstairs in Education Wing) – “The Wired Word” – rotating leadership

 Adult class (Room 201, upstairs in Education Wing) - Scripture from our "Bible in a Year" readings - led by Susan Meister
