Rev. Wehrly speaks at Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service
On Wednesday, November 23, persons from the several churches around Lebanon joined together at an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at the Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Participants in the service included Pastor Don Wagner, St. Paul UCC; Brenda Pehle, St. Joseph Catholic Church; Margaret Lee, Cherry St. Community Church of God; Pastor Bryan Pope, Fresh Start Church; and host Pastor W.J. Griffin, Mt. Olive M.B. Church.
Rev. Peter J. Wehrly, pastor of Lebanon First UMC, brought the message, based on Luke 17:11-18, the story of the healing of the ten lepers. The title of his sermon was Leaf Peepers, Leper Prayers, and Lebanon Praisers. At the end of the sermon, Rev. Wehrly encouraged the members to write a letter of thanks to someone who was influential in their lives.
Musical selections were sung by Kathleen Joyner and Richard Boyd.
